Fågeltorn vid Ågestasjön

Ågestasjön is one of the county's finest bird habitats. In total, more than 240 bird species have been found at Ågestasjön and its surroundings. The lower part of the tower can be reached by wheelchair or pram. Look out for mallards, ospreys and brown harriers. On spring evenings, you can hear the whistling of the small-spotted marsh harrier and the honking of the reed bunting. In the middle of the lake near the bird tower there is a colony of laughing gulls, which warn of other predators, allowing ducks and grebes to nest in shelter. The meadows are home to wading birds, ruffs and snipe.

The public is not allowed to enter the bird sanctuary between April 15 and July 15 when the birds are nesting. During this period, the lake is specially protected and fishing, hunting, dog walking, motor boating and canoeing are prohibited.
