Dalakolonin på Bosön

In the 1920s, a number of allotment houses were built at Bosön on Lidingö. It was the so-called Dalaföreningen in Stockholm that had the opportunity to organize growing opportunities for its members, with roots in Dalarna, in the time of food shortages after World War I. The small allotment cottages were given their very own "Dalarna style" that still characterizes the area. There is a dance floor and a midsummer pole from Svärdsjö, and the members still have ties to Dalarna.
