Åstigen i Moraåns dalgång naturreservat

Åstigen leads you 2 km along the Moraån river. The path is marked with yellow tiles and you will find several information boards along the path that tell you about different natural and cultural environments in and around the river. The path passes partly wet and steep sections. Several footbridges, some with handrails, help you to pass these. Rope handrails help you in several places to get up or down particularly steep places. You will pass a number of stair-like fence crossings and a barbecue area.

Moraån meanders through a valley with fantastic natural and cultural environments. The river roars in small waterfalls and rapids, but also flows calmly and quietly in some stretches. The Moraån valley has become increasingly deeper over the years. It is not always easy to navigate along the riverbank. Dense hedgerows grow here and many fallen trees lie in the way. Beavers are frequent here. Although Moraån is quite close to homes and roads, you can easily get the feeling of being far out in the wild when you listen to the rippling water, the nightingale's song and stand under the dense canopy of leaves by the river. There are good chances of seeing wildlife. In the river in the fall, you can also see sea trout migrating up from the sea during spawning time. Moraån is Södertälje municipality's most important sea trout river.
