Beskrivelse
Strandhagen Nature Reserve is an older deciduous forest with a rich grove flora that spreads in the spring. Species such as black magic grape, water lily and fern grow here, signaling the high natural values of the forest. The forest consists mainly of birch, aspen, alder and spruce, as well as hazel bushes over 100 years old. The dead wood in the forest provides a habitat for many organisms, including birds such as the lesser spotted woodpecker and various beetles and fungi. A rare butterfly, the giant sponge moth, lives as a caterpillar in the lint beetle that grows on dead or dying birch trees.
The high natural values of the forest are mainly linked to deciduous trees such as birch, aspen and hazel, as well as old trees and dead wood. The humid climate and shady environment favor many shade-tolerant grove plants and unusual species, such as the red-listed candelabra fungus that grows on decaying trees and aspen stumps. In addition, rare species of fungi such as the hazel thistle and chanterelle mushroom are found in the area, which further contributes to Strandhagen's biodiversity.

Rutevejledning
The nature reserve is located about 4 kilometers south of Äsköping in Julita parish, on the southeast side of Lake Öljaren. From Äsköping, head south towards Gimmersta. Drive past Gimmersta and the avenue that borders the road. Continue another 2.5 kilometers. At the Galisatt bus stop there is a gravel road to the right that leads to the reserve and a parking lot.

I naturreservatet gäller särskilda regler för besökare.
Det är förbjudet att:
- bryta kvistar, fälla eller på annat sätt skada levande eller döda stående och omkullfallna träd och buskar.
- skada, plocka eller samla in växter, svampar eller lavar. Bär- matsvamp- och blomplockning för eget behov är dock tillåtet.
- sätta upp tavla, plakat, affisch, skylt eller göra inskrift.
- fånga och insamla ryggradslösa djur på sådant sätt att deras biotoper eller reproduktionsmiljöer skadas eller förstörs.
Det är förbjudet att utan Länsstyrelsens tillstånd:
- anordna lägerverksamhet.
- anordna tävlingar.
