Beskrivelse
Djupviksbergets nature reserve in Södermanland is unique for its limestone coniferous forest, which creates a rich and varied flora and fauna. In spring, you can see thistle bloom, followed by goat's rue and maidenhair in early summer, and purple coneflower in July. The area is also known for its unusual fungi such as the fireweed fungus and the copper spider mite, which appear in the fall. The limestone in the bedrock has a major impact on the vegetation, and the long forest continuity contributes to the high biodiversity of the area.
Djupviksberget, with its highest point at 96 meters above sea level, is one of the highest points in the county and is located near the Sörmlandsleden stage 30. The reserve borders other nature reserves such as Stenstorps hagkärr and Västra Kulltorp, as well as Lake Näsnaren in the north. The area has a rich cultural history with limestone quarries, lime kiln remains and traces of previous forestry. Rare vascular plants such as yarrow, field gentian, knotweed, marsh saxifrage and eye pyrola thrive here, making it an important area for nature conservation and biodiversity.
