Beskrivelse
Slättängsdammarna is a municipal nature reserve on the outskirts of Lomma. Perch, pike, ide, rudd and tench live in the reserve's nine ponds. And you are welcome to fish if you have a fishing license. Plants you may come across in the area include rose mallow, long-leaved sedge and the orchid soapwort. During summer evenings, you have a good chance of seeing bats flying over the ponds.
Ponds created by the brick industry
The nine ponds in the reserve were created in old clay pits from the brickworks era. The so-called "Lomma clay" is a late-glacial marine clay and its yellowish color can still be seen on many brick houses in the area. After the turn of the last century, the demand for bricks from Lomma's brickworks decreased and as production decreased and later ceased, the old clay pits were filled with water. However, traces of the brick industry can still be seen in the reserve today, in the form of old house foundations and gardens.
Flora and fauna
The plain meadow ponds are home to a rich flora. Among the plants can be mentioned rose mallow, long-stalk, sandwort and the orchid two-leaf. Many ducks, geese and grebes thrive in the ponds and the magnificently colorful kingfisher is a regular guest. On summer evenings, bats can be seen hunting insects above the water surface. In the reserve, northern bats, water bats, common pipistrelles and little pipistrelles have been observed.
Fishing and outdoor activities
Fishing is permitted in Slättängsdammen for those who have purchased a fishing license. The pond contains, among other things, perch, pike, ide, roach, rudd and tench. You can also see edible frogs and snakes in the pond. There are several trails and picnic areas in the area. Remember to take your rubbish home.

**Within the area, special rules and restrictions apply to the right of public access.
For example, it is forbidden to:
- have a dog unleashed
- camping or staying overnight in any other way
- ride horses
- fishing during the period April 1 - June 15. Otherwise, fishing may only take place in Slättängsdammen according to municipal regulations

Full regulations for visitors
In addition to regulations and prohibitions in other laws and regulations, it is forbidden to:
- dig, drill, paint or otherwise damage soil and rock
- break branches, cut down or otherwise damage living or dead trees and bushes
- digging up plants
- bring an unleashed dog or other stray pet
- disturb, collect or kill mammals, birds, reptiles or amphibians
- fishing during the period April 1 - June 15. Otherwise, fishing may only take place in Slättängsdammen according to municipal regulations;
- put up a board, poster, poster, sign, make an inscription or similar.
- drive a motorized vehicle other than on a designated road;
- light an open fire other than in a specially prepared place marked on a map in the established management plan.

- destroy or damage culturally valuable elements such as house foundations.
