Handlinger

Beskrivelse

The varied nature of Risen provides great experiences all year round. Here, on the outskirts of Genap, you can walk across flowering fields, past wet marshes and through oak and beech forests. There is also a mountain bike trail for those who like to cycle in varied nature. Or why not play a little hide-and-seek among the junipers? Take your time and keep your eyes open for animals and plants. Risen has many hiking trails and picnic areas to choose from. The range is even greater when you look into the nearby reserve in the Häckeberga area.

Flowering meadows with butterflies

In the spring, flowering wood anemones are a major attraction in the extensive pasture. Cat's-foot, sundew and spruce spurge appear later, as do the orchids May lilies and meadow lilies. On sunny and warm days, colorful butterflies can be seen flying over the flowering field. Several of them are rare, including the black-spotted blue.

Older trees with unusual insects

The forest in Risen is fairly young, but here and there are really large and old beech and oak trees. The old trees are teeming with insects, one of which lives in the stumps of beech and birch, the unusual beetle, the beech blossom beetle. It is found in several places here in the Häckeberga area, but only in a few other places in Sweden.

Amphibians and birds

The edible frog is a beautiful green frog and the largest in Sweden. In May, the loud croaking of the males can be heard from the wet marshes. Among Risen's many birds are the brown harrier, the skylark and the shrike.

Outdoor life

Risen's varied nature offers many opportunities for outdoor activities. There are hiking trails of varying lengths, but also bridle paths and mountain bike trails. If you want to have a barbecue, there are several picnic areas with fireplaces. The two picnic areas in the central parts of Risen also have shelters. Remember to bring charcoal if you are going to barbecue and to take your rubbish home. There are three parking lots adjacent to the reserve. At Sandvägen's parking lot in the northwest there is a toilet. The nearest bus stop is Genarp bus station which is 500 meters north.

Risens nature reserve is part of a larger area on Romeleåsen with good outdoor opportunities. Around the centrally located Häckebergasjön there are several hiking, horseback riding and mountain bike trails, several accommodation options, attractions, café and restaurant.

In English

Welcome to Risen Nature Reserve

Risen Nature Reserve lies just on the outskirts of Genarp. It is the remains of the villages' common pasture that once covered large parts of Romeleåsen. Today, Risen is home to a variety of habitats, with dry, sandy hills, woodland and wetlands.

In spring the Pasque Flowers open themselves towards the sun. The large blue is one of the many species of butterfly that thrive among the Wild Thyme, Catsfoot and Common Rockrose. Children love to play hide-and-seek among the juniper bushes at Risen. The Edible Frog is becoming increasingly common and in spring you can hear it croaking both night and day. You might also get a glimpse of the grass snake in parts of the reserve. Risen is also home to several different mammals, for example fallow deer and pine marten.

Regulations

The regulations which apply in the reserves are set out on the notices displayed at the entrances and in swedish on this web page.
