Beskrivelse
The Ingelstorp bog nature conservation area is a large area of grazed, flat meadows, located in a village where almost all the land is farmed. Through the central parts of the area runs a wetter path with several small ponds and small marshes as well as a larger marsh area. During the winter months, the surrounding low-lying meadows are also partly waterlogged.
Important bird site
The bog with surrounding grasslands is a very important bird site. During spring migration, the meadows attract large numbers of resting birds - geese, waders and ducks. Curlews and redshanks nest in the reserve, and rarer species such as shoveler and pintail are regular visitors.
Rare plants and frogs
Ingelstorp's wetlands are home to a number of unusual plants, including orchids and the rare plants onion-leaved chamomile and piping sedge. The bog's many small waters also provide important habitats for various amphibians. These include the very rare onion frog - a species that only occurs in a few locations in southern and south-eastern Skåne. Bell frogs, great crested newts and the beautiful green leaf frog are also found in the reserve.
