Beskrivelse
Froenahejdan is a valuable forest area in an area dominated by open farmland, just over 1.5 miles east of Sjöbo. Several moraine ridges run through the reserve, contributing to a varied environment with dry heights and damp depressions.
Meadow beech forest with rare flowers and lichens
The meadow beech forest has a beautiful spring and early summer flora with, for example, yellow thistle, wood violet, musk madder and bush starflower. Among the rarities is the rare spotted lungwort. In addition to beech, there are also some large oaks and older hornbeams, as well as ash, elm, lime, bird's-foot trefoil and hazel. Associated with the old trees is a rich moss and lichen flora with, for example, the red-listed lichens beech spring lichen and lobed shield lichen.
Outdoor life
Froenahejdan is easily accessible via the road between Lövestad and Bäretofta. The reserve is surrounded by arable land except in the northeast where pasture takes over. In the reserve there are paths along the ridges and a small tractor road that makes it easy to get around. There is a picnic area with tables and benches by the parking lot. Remember to take your rubbish home.
**Note: new path in the northwest may be overgrown with nettles in places due to reduced maintenance.

- drive motorized vehicles other than on public roads,
- camping or setting up a caravan, motor home or similar,
- dumping garden waste
- damage living or dead standing or lying trees and shrubs and damage vegetation in general, for example by digging up plants
- affixing boards, signs, inscriptions, posters, signs or similar devices, with the exception of information and reserve signs and boundary markers,
- riding a bicycle outside paths and roads.
