Björka skog, Naturreservat

Björka forest is a nice little forest grove in eastern Ödåkra, next to Väla center. There are plans to protect the area as a nature reserve within a few years. There are high nature values here, with several finds of red-listed fungi and lichens. There are probably several species of bats and many wood-living insects in the old deciduous trees. The area is varied despite its limited size. In Björka forest, the city has worked hard to increase the opportunities for exciting outdoor activities. Among other things, we have improved footpaths and bridleways, put out more seating areas and built a picnic area with barbecue facilities and built a new parking lot along Ödåkravägen. We have also taken measures to improve the area's flora and fauna, including creating several sandy areas in the old gravel pit and creating new meadow areas.
