Svartåmynningens naturreservat

Around the mouth of the Svartån river in Roxen, large and well-kept meadows spread out. The area is protected as a nature reserve and is one of the county's finest bird locations. More than 200 bird species have been seen here. Röudden, which is located in the middle of the nature reserve, is an old delta made up of sediment from the Svartån river. Sättunaviken and Härnaviken lie on either side of the headland.

There are three entrances to the reserve. The southern one at Sättuna, the middle one at Nybrobaden and the northern one at Sjövik. There are birdwatching towers and information signs at all of them. The birdwatching towers at Nybrobaden and Sättuna are accessible by wheelchair. At Nybrobaden there is also a toilet that is accessible by wheelchair. Picnic tables are available at Nybrobaden and Sättuna.

There are five parking lots, of which the two closest to the bird towers are for people with disabilities. The parking lot at Sjövik has space for ten cars and is shared with customers of the garden shop. The parking lot at Nybrobaden has space for ten cars and the accessible one has space for five cars. The parking lot at Sättuna has space for ten cars and the accessible one has space for three cars. A marked trail runs from the parking lots to the bird towers.

From spring to fall the reserve is grazed by cattle. During this period, we recommend that you do not enter the pastures with a dog as it can make the grazing animals stressed and aggressive.
