Smedstad dammar

Hidden on the outskirts of Linköping is a small water park with winding canals and ponds. Here you can go exploring along easily accessible walkways and small bridges that lead you through the area.

There is a large picnic area with a covered fireplace and firewood, as well as several smaller picnic areas, park benches and a toilet.

The ponds have been built to purify the water in Smedstadbäcken and even out the flow of water in the stream. There is a rich plant and animal life here, including otters and the unusual fringed bat. In winter, this is a good place to see common terns.

The 630 m long circular loop, like other installations, is wheelchair accessible. Parking is available adjacent to the area.

The area is not directly connected to Östgötaleden.
