Ekhultebergen rundslinga, Östgötaleden

In southeastern Östergötland, just outside Falerum, lies Ekhultebergen Nature Reserve, which is managed by the County Administrative Board of Östergötland.

Ekhultebergen Nature Reserve can be reached by following the Östgötaleden stage from Falerum east towards Rumma for about 2 km or by car following signs from Falerum. From the reserve's parking lot, a loop runs through fantastic forests. We can promise that this is one of the coolest fire-marked old forest landscapes we have in Östergötland, today with 300-400-year-old forest. Via the loop you reach several viewpoints where you have breathtaking views of Lake Åkervristen and the scenic and nationally interesting Uknadalen to the south.

The trail runs through one of the largest primeval forests in the county. There is great diversity among the stately old pines on mountainous terrain and noble deciduous trees down towards the lake, and a large number of special and unusual creatures live here. The hiking trail goes through woodland and is well-trodden, but quite demanding. The path goes alternately slightly uphill, through flatter parts and then downhill. However, it is definitely not a "climb".
