Övralid runt, Östgötaleden

The view from Övralid spans miles after miles over the great lake Vättern and here you can walk a short 2,2 km trail through many different types of nature.

Övralid was the Nobel Prize winning author Verner von Heidenstams (1859-1940) final home. The classical house was constructed based on the author's own design by lake Vättern. He moved in 1925 and stayed until his death in 1940 and the house is preserved the way he left it. During the summer you will find a café, parking and toilets available here.
