Motala ström is best known for its salmon and trout fishing. But further up, around Åbackarna and Himmestalund, there is good fishing for species such as perch and pike, which grow large in the productive water. The fishing area extends right up to the railway bridge at Fiskeby. Here you will also find one of the area's better fishing spots for large-sized perch. And if you get tired of the perch and pike, maybe you can try the exciting winter fishing for burbot?
The fishing is run by the Cityfiske association in Norrköping. On their website you can read about fishing rules and where you can buy fishing licenses.

The fishing stretch is long and there are many ways to get here and many places to fish. The easiest is one of the area's jetties or a protruding rock. One place that many people fish from is the small headland just under the Riksbron, on the southern bank of the river Strömmen. There are other good fishing spots both upstream and downstream.
