Ågelsjön Nature Reserve is unique for those who love climbing! Different types of climbing are practiced here (see glossary below!) Ågelsjön's fine rocks attract climbers from all over Sweden and the world.

On the right-hand side of the page are tips on climbing in the area.

There are different types of climbing. The different styles are described briefly below.

Sport: When climbers use ready-made fixed belay devices.

Trad: where climbers use their own belays (wedges, cams, etc.). These are then removed by the person coming behind, leaving the wall clean.

Mix: A mixture of sport and trad climbing.

Ice: Climbing with axes and crampons on ice.

DWS: Deep water soloing, climbing without belays or ropes over deep water.

Solo: Climbing completely without belays or ropes.
