The beautiful lake Hövern is surrounded by a hilly coniferous forest landscape with interspersed fields and pastures. The lake is large and varied, with many islands and skerries, bays and inlets to discover. Hövern offers good fishing, especially for pike, perch and zander. The best chance of catching zander is at dusk and dawn during the summer. Try it with a deep-draught wobbler.
Fishing in the lake is permitted by the Hövern-Långens fishing area association. You can buy a fishing license on the online service iFiske.

Rutevejledning
One of many possible starting points for fishing in Hövern is the small marina in the northwest bay of the lake. The harbor is leased by Höversby boat club and is located next to Hövern's bathing area. You can get here if you take highway 35 from Linköping towards Åtvidaberg. At the Vårdsberg roundabout, turn left onto County Road 761/741 towards Askeby. Continue seven kilometers after passing Örtomta and then turn left towards Östra Ryd. Then continue 600 meters and then turn right down towards the harbor, it is signposted to the bath. If you come by boat, you can use the boat club's ramp for launching for a fee.
