Besöksanläggningen vid Stångåmynningen

On the western side of the Stångå estuary there is a visitor facility with a warming hut, bird tower, jetty and toilet. The warming hut has a picnic table and a wood-burning stove. Firewood is available outdoors in an opening in the facade of the warming hut. The warming hut is open all year round. From March-October between 06.00-22.00, from November-February between 08.00-18.00.

From the bird tower you have a nice view of the western Roxen and the river's mouth in the lake. The estuary is frequented by many birds, especially ducks and curlews. White-tailed eagles are often seen from the tower. The estuary area is a good place for birdwatching all year round, even in winter, as the estuary is rarely covered in ice.

There is a toilet in the Linköping dinghy sailing club's clubhouse. The toilet is open April 15 - October 15 between 06.00-20.00.

The visitor center is accessible except for the bird tower.

To get to Stångåmynningen, follow the footpath and cycle path signs along the western side of Stångån towards Roxen. If you come by car, you can park at Segelbåtshamnen and walk the last kilometer to Stångåmynningen on the gravel road past the wetland Långa Lisa.

For those who have a parking permit for the disabled, there is a parking lot at the entrance to the visitor center.

Starting in week 12, construction will take place in the area to improve the picnic area outside the clubhouse and accessibility to the bird tower. The warming hut will be open throughout the construction period. The bird tower will be closed for a few days during week 14.
