Ärlången is a popular fishing lake with good fishing for mainly pike, perch and zander. Many people fish from boats, but it is also possible to find places along the shore to fish from. If you fish from a boat, it is good to know that Lillön outside Sturefors Castle is covered by bird protection during the period 1/4 to 10/7. There are also aspen in the lake, but keep in mind that it is endangered and carefully put the fish back if you get one on the hook.
The lake is part of the Ärlången-Rengensjöarnas fishing conservation area. You can buy fishing licenses at Hultins sport fishing in Linköping and in the grocery stores in Sturefors, Bestorp, Grebo and Brokind. The card entitles you to fish in Stora and Lilla Rängen, Ärlången and in the Kinda canal between the lakes.

If you want to fish from the shore, you can find good fishing spots at headlands and rocks and other reed-free places. There are a number of roads down to the water, most of them quite small. Keep in mind that several of the roads lead to houses, respect prohibition signs and park sensibly. If you come with a boat on a trailer, you can use the ramp at Grebo boat club for a fee. The key is available at the grocery store in Grebo.
