Rundslinga Klunkhytte skans

This loop is signposted from the Tväggelåten rest area, but it is possible to start at the turnaround on the old road west of Tväggelåten. The first stretch is a shaft that you walk back and forth. When you enter the forest, it is a circular loop that partly goes into the nature reserve. The loop is marked with blue poles or ribbons with our logo for the loop. Up on the mountain ridge are the remains of an ancient castle from the Iron Age (500 BC-1050 AD). The site provides a good view of the landscape and the steep slopes gave the castle natural protection on one side. On the other sides, the castle was protected by semi-circular stone walls. Remains of these walls can be seen today in the form of two stone ramparts. The longest and strongest rampart is about 70 meters long with an entrance in the northeast.
