Postleden etapp 4

The last stage of the Post Trail takes you from the windbreak at Ljustjärn to Kopparberg. The hike goes through old buildings, production forest and natural forest and takes you back to Kopparberg, which is the central town in Ljusnarsberg municipality. Copper and iron ore has been mined here since the 1600s and until 1975. The mining area is an interesting sight, as is the beautiful environment in the center with the courthouse and church. Today the brewery is a major workplace.

OLD CROFT RUIN

At Kvarnbäcken, which the trail passes roughly in the middle of the stage, there is a remnant of an old croft. Remains of the house foundation, a cellar and an old stone bridge are still there.

OPERA ON THE ISLAND

Since its inception in 2004, a number of the most beloved works in opera history have been staged and performed in the distinctive opera house on the shores of Lake Ljusnaren - a former timber warehouse. International stars have offered top-class opera experiences.
