Hemfjärden runt is the bike trail's bike trail here in Örebro. On the round there are many different sights such as nature reserves, historical sites and views out over Hjälmaren. Halfway on the tour there is a summer café at Norra Ässundet, where you can have a coffee or have lunch and swim at the dock next door. Contact the café for current opening hours.
We recommend starting to cycle the trail north, as the signs are easiest to follow from that direction.
M/F Åbäket
At Norra Ässundet you cross the strait with the bicycle ferry M/F Åbäket. You pay a voluntary fee of SEK 50 for the trip and payment is made by Swish.
M/F Åbäket departs every hour and then ships all cyclists who want to come over, in turn.
Departure times summer 2024
- May 1-June 9: Tours run on weekends, bank holidays and public holidays from 11-17.
- June 10-August 18: Tours run daily 11-17.
- August 19-August 23: No tours.
- August 24-September 29: Tours only run Saturday-Sunday 11-17.
In case of severe weather, tours are canceled

En härlig tur längs Osets och Rynningevikens grusvägar för att sedan övergå till asfalterade och trafikerade vägar fram till Glanshammar och ner till Äss-sundet.
Vid Ässundet blir det ett naturligt stopp för att vänta på cykelfärjan som går varje hel timme, där passar man på att köpa kaffe och räkmacka.
