On Stage 6 you can experience at first hand the oldest railway in Sweden, as well as remains from the Ice Age, and the impressive Långforsen rapids, which over the centuries have been of major significance to iron processing in the area. As the trail brings you past the Järleån river, you can make a detour into the nature reserve, which extends downstream. In the small village of Källarhalsen the trail passes the Ervalla–Nora railway. Opened in 1856, it is the oldest standard-gauge railway in Sweden and is now a museum line. At Pershyttan, iron ore mining began back in the 14th century. Here you can see the only waterwheel in the country with a flatrod system that is still in working order. The resting place for this stage is at Uvberget, where you will find a wind shelter, fireplace and toilet.

Fresh water: At Hammarby village hall there is an outdoor tap for refilling fresh water. In Pershyttan there is a toilet with water. At Digerberget there is a tap at the clubhouse. 8-900 m. south of Hammarby is Kungshedens cold spring, clear water that seeps out of the bedrock. We cannot guarantee the quality of water in cold springs. You must make your own assessment and filter or boil the water if necessary.
Transportation:
Get off at the Bergslagsleden stop, where the trail crosses highway 244. You can also book local traffic between Nora and Pershyttan. You can also book local traffic to Hammarby from Nora.
