Beskrivelse
Welcome to beautiful, majestic Storforsen Rapids! The nature reserve is one of the most visited in Norrbotten County. Here you can experience close up one of the biggest rapids in the Nordic countries. The area is 1.2 square kilometres in size. Snowmobiling is banned in the entire area, nor may you light a fire or pitch a tent except at prepared sites, or cycle, all ride a horse without the permission of the County Administrative Board.

Other: Accessible trail, windbreak and fireplace are in the area. Currently, the woodshed only has long logs that you need to split yourself. Pre-split firewood will be available for sale when the café and tourist office are open.

Kommunikationsflows
Storforsen lies just under 40 km north of Älvsbyn and about 6 kilometres from the community of Vidsel, at a turning on to road 374 (signposted). Hotell Storforsen is just outside the area, on road 374, and there is a footbridge into the reserve from the hotel area.
Rutevejledning
Storforsen is located just under four miles north of Älvsbyn and about 6 kilometers from Vidsel, at a turn-off from road 374. There is a large parking lot. For disabled people with a special parking permit, there are parking spaces below the hill, closer to the rapids. You have to pass a road barrier that is open when staff are in the reserve.
Regler
All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is allowed to:
- hike
- hunt in accordance with the laws in force
It is not allowed to:
- drive a motorized vehicle except on roads specially constructed for the purpose
- make fires or camp, other than in designated places
- ride a horse within the reserve without the permission of the county administrative board
- cycling off-road
- drive snowmobiles
- damage plant and animal life
Remember the right of public access and protect nature!
