Beskrivelse
In this beautiful landscape you can walk next to ancient pine trees and rare species. The lichens of the old growth forest are important food for reindeer. There are two different reindeer herding districts that utilize the area.
The nature reserve is 0.9 square kilometres and is situated in Gällivare municipality

From road 822, 20 kilometres south of central Gällivare, turn left towards Ripats/Björkudden. From here, follow the gravel roads northwest for about 9 kilometres.
Rutevejledning
The easiest way to reach the reserve is from road 822, about 20 km south of central Gällivare, turn west towards Ripats or Björkudden. From here you follow the forest roads further in a northwesterly direction, for about 9 km. Parking is suggested at the turning area on the west side of the reserve, where you will also find information signs for the two nature reserves Sileäkielinen and Kuolpajärvi.
Regler
Regulations
All regulations can be found in the reserve decision. It is allowed to:
- camping
- hiking
- picking berries and edible mushrooms
- make a fire, remember to bring your own firewood!
- drive snowmobiles on well-snow-covered ground
- fish and hunt in accordance with the laws in force
It is not allowed to harm plant and animal life. Remember the right of public access and protect nature!
