Beskrivelse
Nirra is a dead ice area formed by the melting of the inland ice. The site is located within Sveaskog's Leipipir Ecopark, which is situated a few miles east of Gällivare.
Leipipir is a large, roadless mountain forest area with natural forests to the north and fire-affected pine forests to the south. The area contains hilly mountains, bog mosaics and a large number of lakes.
Here you can experience a beautiful wilderness landscape. Kilometers of almost untouched natural spruce forests together with high mountains and extensive pine ridges create a hilly landscape with many small clear water lakes and rippling streams. (Source: Sveaskog.se)

Rutevejledning
The easiest way to get here is to drive along road 822. If you are coming from Gällivare, after about 2 miles turn left onto a gravel road that leads to a small parking lot with information about the ecopark. From the parking lot you can choose different directions for your excursion with the assurance that it will be beautiful whichever way you choose. To find your way back to your car, you may want to bring a GPS or map and compass. In addition to being beautiful to walk freely, the area also has a number of trails to follow and some rest areas to pause at.
