Beskrivelse
At
Harrurliden in southern Arjeplog Municipality, there is a rare spruce forest
that has escaped human influence, offering a true primeval forest environment.
The ancient forest features a diverse array of trees at various ages, including
dead and dying trees, creating an uneven and varied structure.
This untouched
forest is home to a rich flora and fauna, with many sensitive fungi and lichens
thriving in this unique habitat. By allowing the forest to develop freely,
essential habitats have been created for rare species, including coarse dead
logs that are crucial for the ecosystem.
Harrurliden demonstrates how time and
unspoiled natural forces can create a dynamic and vibrant forest environment.

Rutevejledning
Harrurliden is located about 7 km southwest of
Mellanström in southern Arjeplog Municipality. The reserve can be accessed via
forest roads from the north through Rålund, as well as from the south, with
this road leading directly to the eastern boundary of the reserve. To reach
Harrurliden from the south, head south in Mellanström (road 609) and then west
onto road 613. After approximately 2.5 km, turn north onto a forest road that
reaches the reserve after about 4 km.
Regler
The following activities are permitted:
- Camping
- Hiking
- Picking berries and edible mushrooms
- Making a fire (remember to bring your own firewood!)
- Driving snowmobiles on well-covered snow
- Fishing and hunting in accordance with applicable laws
It is not permitted to harm plant and animal life. Remember the right of
public access and take care of nature!
