Beskrivelse
The nature reserve's boulder-rich land is home to deciduous forest with old oaks and aspens. The forest is home to a number of unusual plants and animals. On a hike through the pathless area on your own, you have the chance to experience nature!
Deciduous forest with old trees
Thousands of boulders and stones have made it difficult to manage the forest in this area. It has therefore largely been left to fend for itself and become a refuge for animals and plants that are sensitive to disturbance. Particularly valuable are the oaks, which are up to 200 years old.
Diversity trees
Old, decaying and rotten oaks are vital for a wide range of insects, lichens and fungi. Late-growing oak trees in the nature reserve are home to the rare pale lichen, for example. The light-colored, wide-growing wood fungus prefers recently dead oak branches, often high up in the oak branches.
Rice and flowers
In large parts of the reserve, the soil is poor with common vegetation such as bilberries, lingonberries and various grasses. But in the slopes, the soil is richer and this can be seen in the flora. Here, dark lungwort, woundwort, lesser celandine and spring pea flower in spring and early summer.
Farmed wetlands
Wet marshes, bogs, swamps and swamp forests add variety to the nature of the reserve. Some of the wetlands were used in the past for haymaking and cultivation. Moss cultivation continued until the 1940s. To make the bog suitable for cultivation, local farmers dug ditches and canal systems. When the bog was drained of water, the water level in Stora and Lilla Grytsjön was lowered and new, reed-rich wetlands were created in connection with the lakes.

Rutevejledning
From the south; drive E22 towards Fårbo. Pass Fårbo. 2 km after Fårbo at the height of Stolpen turn left. After 30 meters a y-junction, keep right. Parking is available in the reserve boundary at the information sign.
Regler
In the nature reserve you are not allowed:
- Drive a motorized vehicle off designated roads or trails.
- Park a motor vehicle, caravan or trailer.
- Drive or land a hovercraft, hydrocopter, low-flying aircraft or similar craft.
- Driving a jet ski.
- camping for more than 24 hours in the same place
- Mooring or anchoring a boat for more than 24 hours in the same place.
- Driving or landing low-flying aircraft.
- Climbing trees with nests.
- Being near a bird of prey nest, roost or burrow.
- Deliberately disturbing wildlife.
- Bringing a dog, or other animal, that is not on a leash.
- Make a fire anywhere other than in designated areas, in a barbecue you have brought or in an open-air kitchen.
- Picking or damaging mosses, lichens or wood fungi.
- Digging or pulling up vascular plants.
- Damage or remove trees, stumps, bark, branches, shrubs or brush that are growing or dead.
If you have obtained a permit from the County Administrative Board, you may:
- Set traps to collect insects that are then killed.
Full regulations
C. Regulations for the public according to Chapter 7, Section 30 of the Environmental Code on the right to travel and stay in the reserve and on order in general within the reserve.
It is forbidden to enter the reserve:
- drive motorized vehicles other than on existing roads.
- set up a motorized vehicle, caravan or trailer
- operate a hovercraft, hydrocopter, jet ski or similar craft
- camping for more than one day in the same place
- mooring or anchoring a boat in the same place for more than 24 hours
- flying low-flying aircraft or landing with aircraft
- climbing trees, staying near a bird of prey's nest, lair or pot, or otherwise deliberately damaging or disturbing wildlife
- Bringing an unleashed dog or other loose pet.
- Make a fire other than in a barbecue or outdoor kitchen.
- Pick or damage wood fungi, mosses or lichens.
- Digging or pulling up vascular plants.
- Damage or remove growing or dead trees, stumps, bark, branches, bushes or brush.
It is forbidden to do this without the permission of the County Administrative Board:
- Collect insects with traps that kill.
The regulations under C do not apply to owners or holders of special rights to property or holders of other rights.
