Beskrivelse
Klasatorpet is a Småland crofting cottage from the 19th century that has been a local museum open in the summer since 1969. During the filming of Vilhelm Moberg's novel The Emigrants in 1969, the croft was the location for the main characters' home Korpamoen. Klasatorpet is located in Långasjö, southwest of Emmaboda in Glasriket in Småland.
Here you can experience a genuine Småland croft environment, where the croft cottage and barn are in their original condition, as well as the earth cellar and water source. Per Klase, who settled here in 1804, has given his name to the croft.
A simple museum with objects from the crofting era completes the picture of life in the 19th century and there is something for all ages to reflect on. In summer, there are also animals on the croft, as well as a lovely herb garden.
Exhibitions and materials from the filming are still there. Klasatorpet today gives us a picture of how a Småland crofter family lived a hundred years ago.
The area is an excellent place to visit for children, who have the opportunity to socialize with some of our most common pets.
