Hjortesjön

A lake with top-class pikeperch fishing.

Hjortesjön is located just west of Virserum, close to Virserumssjön, with which it is also connected. The lake is nutrient-poor and the water is slightly brown in color. This is due to the surrounding woodland. The surrounding area is largely coniferous forest and the shores are rocky. In the eastern part of the lake there is also deciduous forest. The bottom material in the lake consists of varying dunes, gravel and boulders and the vegetation in the lake is sparse and consists of sedges, reeds, water lilies and sedges. Three islands are located in the central/eastern part.
