Häljanäs

The name Häljanäs can be derived from "helig" and "näs" which can mean holy place. It is likely that this place, which is beautifully situated next to Lake Allgunnen, was a pagan sacrificial site. In the village there used to be a glassworks "Hälljunga" which was in operation from 1898 to 1908. Today there is nothing left of the factory. However, there is a small active sawmill.

At the bathing area there are toilets, showers and the possibility of camping (nature camping). The facility belongs to Emmaboda municipality.
