Beskrivelse
Flasgölerum is one of several nature reserves in Ekopark Hornsö. The reserve covers a stretch of the Alsterån river and the mosaic of open wetlands and forests that border the watercourse. It is home to a rich plant and animal life with many rare species - both on land and in the water!
Varied forests
Flasgölerum has forests of varying character. The swamp forests closest to Alsterån are dominated by alder, ash and birch. On drier ground there are both deciduous and coniferous forests. In the northern part of the reserve there is forest dominated by oak. The varied forest is home to a great diversity of species.

Flasgölerum is located in an area that is one of Europe's most valuable areas for insects - Hornsö. The leatherback beetle is one of many rarities found in this reserve. It is associated with environments where there are decaying, hollow deciduous trees, preferably old oaks. Such environments can be found on Högeströmsholmen, for example.
...and lichens
There is a rich flora of lichens in the reserve's forests. One example is the flower lichen, which usually grows on branches high up in the tree crowns. Högeströmsholme is home to the rare species powder spot. It is a picky species that only grows where there is high humidity and has been forest for a long time.
Valuable watercourse
Alsterån is one of the county's most valuable watercourses. The river has a rich and valuable wildlife, especially when it comes to small, bottom-dwelling organisms. Larger organisms also thrive in Alsterån. If you are interested in birds, it may be worth looking for osprey, cranes and lesser spotted woodpeckers.

The reserve is located along the road Sandbäckshult - Allgunnen, about 10 km west of Hornsö village.
Regler
In the nature reserve you are not allowed:
- Drive any vehicle or craft off designated roads.
- Ride outside designated roads or paths.
- Camp in tents.
- Bring a dog or other animal that is not on a leash.
- Put up a board, sign, poster or similar device or make inscriptions.
- Build a fire.
- Digging, pulling up or picking plants or plant parts. You may pick berries and edible mushrooms.
- Damage or remove trees, stumps, bark, branches, shrubs or brush that are growing or dead.
- Hunt, kill, capture or injure wild mammals, amphibians, reptiles or birds.
- Deliberately disturbing wildlife.
- use the area for competitions or exercises
- Carrying out commercial activities.
After consultation with the County Administrative Board, you may:
- Conduct survey or research.
Full regulations
C. Regulations according to Chapter 7, Section 30 of the Environmental Code on the right to travel and stay in the reserve and on order in general.
In addition to prohibitions and regulations in other legislation, it is prohibited to
- drive any kind of vehicle or craft other than on existing roads,
- ride horses other than on existing roads,
- camping
- bring an unleashed dog or other stray pet,
- put up a board, sign, poster or similar device or make an inscription
- make a fire,
- dig up or pick plants or plant parts, with the exception of berries and edible mushrooms
- damage or remove growing or dead trees, stumps, bark, branches, bushes or reeds
- hunt, kill, capture or injure wild mammals, amphibians, reptiles or birds, remove or damage eggs or nests or otherwise disturb wildlife
- use the area for competition or training purposes
- carry out commercial activities.
Surveys or research must be carried out in consultation with the County Administrative Board.
