Beskrivelse
Fårhagsberget is surrounded by old coniferous forests, which turn into flower-rich pastures to the south. The forests are virtually unaffected by forestry and are therefore called natural forests. Natural forests are unusual in this area and in the county as a whole.
Old-growth forest
Forests that have been untouched for a long time are called natural forests. Typical of natural forests is that there are both young and old trees. There are also dead trees, both standing and lying. Natural forests are species-rich environments compared to managed forests, partly because the presence of dead wood is an important prerequisite for many mosses, fungi and insects.
Forest vegetation
Up on Fårhagsberget there is a sparse rocky pine forest with old, low-growing and crooked pines. The mountain is surrounded by spruce-rich coniferous forests with deciduous trees here and there. The ground is dominated by various types of rice, which spread out over dense moss mats, but there is also wood anemone, sorrel, green pyrola and the orchid knotweed.
Out in nature!
From the parking lot there is a marked trail that follows Hammarsboån eastwards. If you follow the trail, you will soon come to a small pasture where you can see many different plants in spring and summer, including butterfly attracting meadowsweet and the delicate sedge grass. If you continue east, you will come to a barbecue area, beautifully situated overlooking Hammarsjön. For those who want to explore Fårhagsberget, there is another path that winds through forest and over rocky areas.

Rutevejledning
Turn off highway 47 at Smältebro towards Möckhult and Hammarsebo. Parking is available at the crossroads at Ekudden. Mönsteråsleden also starts from here.
Regler
In the nature reserve you are not allowed:
- Drive a motorized vehicle.
- ride a horse
- camp.
- Make a fire.
- Climbing trees with nests.
- Being closer than 100 meters to a bird of prey's nest, lair or burrow.
- Hunting, killing, capturing or harming wild mammals, amphibians, reptiles or birds.
- Remove or damage eggs or nests.
- Damage or remove trees, stumps, bark, branches, bushes or brush that are growing or dead.
- Dig, pull up or pick plants or plant parts. You may pick berries and edible mushrooms.
- Bring a dog or other animal that is not on a leash.
- Put up a board, sign, poster or similar device or make inscriptions.
- Damage or remove fixed natural objects or surface formations.
- Damage fixed ancient monuments (such as stone walls, cairns, etc.).
- Use the area for competitions or exercises.
After consultation with the County Administrative Board, you may:
- Conduct surveys or research.
Full regulations
C. Regulations according to Chapter 7, Section 30 of the Environmental Code on the right to travel and stay in the reserve and on order in general.
In addition to prohibitions and regulations in other legislation, it is prohibited to:
- drive a motorized vehicle,
- riding a horse
- camping
- make fires
- disturbing wildlife by climbing trees or deliberately staying closer than 100 m to a bird of prey's nest, lair or burrow
- hunt, kill, capture or injure wild mammals, amphibians, reptiles or birds, remove or damage eggs or nests
- damage or remove growing or dead trees, stumps, bark, branches, bushes or brush
- digging up or picking plants or parts of plants except berries and edible mushrooms
- bring an unleashed dog or other stray pet
- put up a board, poster, sign, poster or similar device or make an inscription
- destroy, remove or damage a fixed natural object or surface formation,
- damage fixed ancient monuments,
- use the area for competition or training purposes.
Surveys or research must be carried out in consultation with the County Administrative Board.
