Bolaget Virserum

Access to the forest has always been of great importance to Virserum. Timber trading, charcoal burning and tar burning are early industries. From the end of the 19th century until the second half of the 20th century, furniture manufacturing dominated in the area.

The company is a cultural and tourist center located in Virserum's old furniture industry area.

The old sawmill premises now house the furniture industry museum, where the old industrial environment is recreated with a water wheel, machine workshop and exhibitions of furniture made in Virserum.

The Swedish Telemuseum has examples of telephones from 1892 up to today's mobile phones.

The area also has a herb garden, Virserum Art Gallery and Stinsen with exhibitions and sales of art and crafts.
