Carlos Artglass

Carlos R. Pebaqué was born on June 4, 1950 in Montevideo, Uruguay. In 1971 he was admitted to the School of Fine Arts in Montevideo. At the same time he came into contact with glassmaking and was fascinated by the possibilities of the material. This led him to start 'Tallado en cristall' that same year.

After seven years of working in his company, Carlos left Uruguay and after a few years of gaining 'world experience', he put down roots in Orrefors in Småland.

To improve his skills in the world of glass, he started at the glass school in Orrefors in 1981 and graduated in 1983 with the highest marks. In 1984 Carlos started 'Gullaskruf Glasateljé' - a company focusing mainly on art glass. In 1991 Carlos started 'Carlos R. Pebaqué Design AB' in Gullaskruv.

Today Carlos produces all his art glass at Målerås Glasbruk and in Gullaskruv there is a grinding shop and glass shop. In 2014 Carlos celebrated his 30th anniversary in Gullaskruv.
