Beskrivelse
Brömsehus was a Danish border fortress in the 14th and 15th centuries. Valdemar Atterdag built it to have a place where he could guard the important sailing route on the Baltic Sea.Brömsehus was a defense fortress on the Danish-Swedish border river Brömsebäck. It is located in Kristianopels parish in present-day Karlskrona municipality in Blekinge. The fortress was higher than the rest of the terrain and surrounded by piles and a moat. The Brömsehus castle is also associated with the story of Engelbrekt, who with the help of the farmer's daughter Gundla from Påboda and large quantities of beer liberated the castle and the border areas from the Germans and Danes in 1436.
No archaeological excavations have been carried out at the site, which today consists of a ruined hill.
There are also beautiful cycling and hiking trails nearby.
