Beskrivelse
Böda vicarage is one of Öland's finest oak groves. Here you walk among stately old oaks with rough trunks and wide tree crowns. There are few environments with old oaks left in Sweden today. Böda Prästgård is therefore an invaluable sanctuary for species that live in and on old oaks!
Triss in valuable nature
The nature reserve is divided into three areas. Most of the giant oaks are in the pasture west of the road, but some are also in the northern area. The northern and southern parts also have deciduous and swamp forests, where large alders are surrounded by ivy. Here you can see many exciting flowers, such as the fragrant ramson. The same applies to the dry meadow inside the old ramparts of the fort, where, among other things, field bindweed grows.
Species-rich
If insects and lichens could talk, they would praise the old oaks of Böda vicarage! The decaying wood and rough bark of the oaks offer nooks and crannies that are perfect for these organisms. For several of the nature reserve's unusual species, the oaks must also be open to the sun.
Rare rams
The leatherback beetle is one of the rarities of the nature reserve. If you smell the scent of dried plums by an old oak tree, there is a leatherback beetle nearby, inside or outside the tree. The best chance of seeing this 3 cm beetle is on sunny late summer days, when it crawls around on the bark. You'll have to be lucky though, as it doesn't show itself very often!
Remains from the past
Böda Skans was probably built in the 16th century, with the aim of protecting the then existing harbor in Böda. The rampart was star-shaped with earth ramparts and moats. Over time, nature has taken over the old defense facility. Hazel, wild apple and oak trees grow on and around the ramparts, partially concealing the old remains.

Rutevejledning
The reserve is located in Böda, immediately adjacent to the church. The reserve area is mainly located within the old pasture of Böda vicarage.
Regler
In the nature reserve you are not allowed:
- Drive a motorized vehicle off designated roads or trails.
- Cycle off designated roads or paths.
- Ride outside designated roads or paths.
- Camp.
- Setting fires.
- Deliberately disturbing wildlife.
- Bringing a dog, or other animal, that is not on a leash.
- Removing pieces from bedrock.
- Digging or pulling up plants or plant parts by the roots.
- Damage or remove trees, stumps, bark, branches, bushes or brush that are growing or dead.
- Picking or damaging mosses, lichens or wood fungi.
- erecting a board, sign, poster or similar device or making inscriptions
After consultation with the County Administrative Board, you may:
- Conduct survey or research.
If you have received permission from the County Administrative Board you may:
- Use the area for competitions or exercises.
- Carry out commercial activities.

C. Regulations according to Chapter 7, Section 30 of the Environmental Code on the right to travel and stay in the reserve and on order in general
In addition to what otherwise applies, it is prohibited to:
- ride or drive any kind of vehicle including bicycle other than on existing roads.
- camping.
- making fires
- disturbing wildlife
- Bringing an unleashed dog or other loose pet.
- removing rocks from the bedrock
- Digging or pulling up plants or plant parts by the roots.
- Damage or remove growing or dead trees, stumps, bark, branches, bushes or brush.
- Pick or damage woody fungi, mosses or lichens.
- Put up a board, sign, poster, placard or similar device or make
- Without the permission of the county administrative board, use the area for competition or exercise purposes.
- conduct commercial activities without the permission of the County Administrative Board
- without consultation with the county administrative board, carry out collection, investigation or research.
The regulations under C4 and C5 do not apply to hunting rights holders in connection with hunting.
The regulations under C shall not prevent what is described in the management plan as pine, coniferous and mixed deciduous forest in the vicinity of the school from continuing to be used for play and teaching purposes.
