Marken är täckt av fjolårets boklöv. Löven på bokarna skiftar i höstfärgerna gult och grönt. På marken ligger gamla trädstammar som har lämnats kvar för att gynna skogens växter och djur. -
Från utsiktsplatsen har man en vacker utsikt över omgivningarna. -
I reservatet finns en böljande hagmark. -
det finns ett bänkbord på utsiktsplatsen där man kan slå sig ner och fika. -
Höstsolen skiner över Töddesjön. Träden runt sjön har tappat sina löv och istället har frosten bitit sig fast i trädtopparna. -
Vattenytan på sjön är blank och höstsolen skiner. Runt sjön växer lite olika träd, alla träd har tappat sina löv. -
I bokskogen skapar löven en brun matta på marken. -
Utsikt från toppen, vi ser öppna ytor men mest skog. -
I reservatet finns en sjö som heter Töddesjön. -
I reservatet betas delar av markerna av betesdjur. -
Solen silar ner genom gröna trädtoppar. -

Beskrivelse
Sundsholm is a nature reserve with varied nature. There are deep forests with old beech and pine, but also sun-open pastures where bluebells, meadowsweet, night-flowering violet and haymaking grass grow. The terrain is hilly with steep slopes, ravines and undulating land. There is a marked trail leading up to a viewpoint. Good footwear is recommended to navigate the hilly terrain.
The terrain around Sundsholm is very hilly. From the lowest parts down by the shore of Lake Töddesjön, a steep slope with loamy surfaces and boulders stretches up to the highest point of the reserve, 125 meters above sea level. The hills and terraces in the open cultural landscape are made up of gravel and stone from the melting of the last ice sheet.
Marked trail takes you to the top
There is a lookout point in the reserve where you have a beautiful view of the lower parts of the reserve. From the western and first parking lot, there is a marked trail (500 meters long) that leads up to the lookout, then you have to take the same way back down. The path is well trodden and easy to get around on, but there are a few steep climbs. Once you've made it to the top, you can sit down at the bench table, enjoy your packed lunch and take in the view.
Many unusual species
The slope, which is criss-crossed by deep ravines, is covered with old beech forest. Further up the slope, a 100-year-old pine forest takes over. Dying juniper bushes testify to the forest's history as open pasture. Fallen trees and stumps with ticks and hollows give the forest an ancient character. A diversity of wood-living fungi, mosses, lichens and insects make their home here. A large number of unusual species have been found that are dependent on long forest continuity and cannot be found in the modern forest.
Hagmark with rich flora
Adjacent to Lake Töddesjön is an undulating pasture with beautiful ice-river rolled stones in small cairns. In sunlit glades between juniper bushes and old aspens, a rich pasture flora grows with species such as little bluebell, heather, meadowsweet and sedge. Here you will also find maidenhair fern, night violet and haymakingwort.

Rutevejledning
Sundsholm is located in Halmstad municipality.Bicycle: Turn off from Hylteslingan in Mahult, take the road towards Femsjö and follow the signs to the reserve (1km).Directions: From highway 25 in Simlångsdalen center, follow the signs towards "Femsjö". After about 5 km you will see a sign saying "Naturreservat Sundsholm", turn right. There are two parking lots at the reserve. After 600 meters you will find the western parking lot. GPS (WGS84): Lat N 56° 45' 2" Lon E 13° 11' 2" If you want to reach the eastern parking lot, continue on the road past the first parking lot and take the second road to the right, continue on the road all the way to the residential houses. When you reach the houses, the parking lot is on the left side, it is signposted parking lot for visitors to the nature reserve.
Regler
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- Damage living or dead, standing or lying, trees and bushes, damage, pick or collect plants. However, picking berries, edible mushrooms and individual specimens of vascular plants is permitted,
- use traps intended for invertebrates, including pheromone-based lures, without the permission of the county administrative board
- planting species alien to the area,
- without the permission of the county administrative board, organize camp activities, competitions, carving trails or orientation checks,
- set up or park a caravan or motorhome in the reserve between 22:00 and 06:00,
- camping for more than 2 consecutive days,
- making fires,
- put up a board, poster, sign or make an inscription,
- drive a motorized vehicle, other than on a road, or park, other than in a designated place, the prohibition does not apply to hunting rights holders when transporting game,
- bring an unleashed dog, and
- digging, breaking, breaking, removing or painting stones and minerals or otherwise destroying or damaging solid natural objects or surface formations.
