Beskrivelse
Bohult is an older and untouched beech forest that lies beautifully on the slope above Lake Övrabökesjön. As a visitor, it is a wild forest you encounter in the reserve. On the slope you can find several "beech wrecks", really old living trees that are more than 200 years old.
No trees have been felled in the area for the last 50 years. Many beech trees have fallen over the years and now lie half-broken and moss-covered on the brown carpet of beech leaves. In the gaps created, new beech seedlings compete with each other and with other tree seedlings for light. Over time, some beech seedlings may have taken over and outgrown their neighbors. Some seedlings may have broken off and died under the weight of snow. Other seedlings may have been grazed by a moose that likes to eat new, healthy shoots. Buds and shoots of deciduous trees are one of the moose's favorite foods, summer and winter.

Regler
To protect the nature reserve, the County Administrative Board has decided on special regulations, including those that you as a visitor to the area must follow and respect.
In addition to what applies under other legislation, it is forbidden to:
- Damage living or dead standing or lying trees and bushes,
- damage, pick or collect plants, such as herbs, mosses or lichens. However, picking berries or edible mushrooms is permitted,
- collect insects, spiders, shells and other invertebrates without the permission of the County Administrative Board. However, individual specimens may be collected provided that it does not violate the conservation regulations and that traps are not used, plant or animal species alien to the area,
- organize camps or competitions without the permission of the County Administrative Board,
- put up a board, poster, sign or make an inscription,
- drive a motorized vehicle other than on a road or park other than in a designated place,
- bring an unleashed dog and
- without the permission of the County Administrative Board, conduct scientific research that contravenes the regulations.
