T-uddens naturreservat

T-uddens nature reserve is a 50-hectare urban seaside area near the Brynäs district, 3 kilometers south of Gävle. In the area you can walk along the paths by the sea, fish or watch birds. The area is one of the few unexploited green areas in Gävle with sea contact and opportunities to look over the Inner Bay. The area is considered one of the best places for birds. The area has picnic areas with benches, a fire pit and a jetty.

The nature reserve is owned and managed by Gävle municipality.

Trails, resting places and bird towers

From the parking lot there is a two kilometer long marked path that takes you around the nature reserve. Feel free to stop at one of the rest areas along the trail.

Via Sältavägen, it is possible to drive both wheelchairs and prams all the way out to the sea. You get a good view from the bird tower between the treatment plant ponds and the sea just west of the nature reserve. Several paths run through Herrgårdshagen's old park. There is a picnic area and several benches.

Valuable for many

The environment includes broadleaf forest, younger birch forest, alder swamp forest and marshes and beaches with reed beds. This creates a good environment for several different animals, such as white-backed woodpeckers and bats.

T-udden is one of the municipal nature reserves in Gävle municipality. It is a popular outdoor area where many people go bird watching, hiking or looking out over the sea.

This is one of the best places for birdwatching in Gävle. In the deciduous forest you can spot lesser spotted woodpeckers, green warblers, rosefinches and stonechats. Reed warblers, bearded tits and coots nest in the reeds along the shores.
