Skatön is located in the outermost coastal area southeast of Söderhamn, directly adjacent to the mainland. The nature reserve that covers the entire island is a fantastic outdoor area with the opportunity for swimming and wonderful experiences in a varied and beautiful nature. The long narrow island that extends far out into the outer sea band and provides an opportunity for the visitor to experience Söderhamn's fabulous archipelago.
Skatön's nature reserve is a wonderful outdoor area with the opportunity for swimming and wonderful experiences in varied and beautiful nature, you can easily reach here by land. Skatberget, with its 32 meters above sea level, offers a wide view of Söderhamn's archipelago and the outer sea band.

Fakta
An easily accessible island, many of the visitors come to the island by boat and often go to the northwest side of the island where a sandy beach with a jetty, barbecue area and toilet is located. But the island can also be reached by land via the bridge over the Svartsund channel. On the other side the path splits. If you turn left, you will come to the beach and further up towards the viewpoint on Skatberget. The path to the right winds wide and easily accessible along the island and finally reaches the southeastern part where most of the cottages are located. On the southernmost headland is Skatrevet, an important area for many birds. This is also the reason why you should not go out on the reef during the breeding season. Migrating seabirds are often studied here in spring and fall.
