Wålstedts ullspinneri

In the fall of 1918, Mary and Lennart Wåhlstedt came to Dala-Floda. Their mission in life was to save the Swedish landrace sheep and make a pioneering contribution to Swedish textile art.

It became a cultural achievement that has been passed on through three generations, developed into a small industry, which not only makes yarns for our foremost textile artists, but has also become a favorite place for hobby knitters.

Yarns and textiles made from wool, angora silk and other exciting materials are sold. Exclusive wool yarns in all the colors of the rainbow are produced here. The production is handmade in small custom-built machines. Viewing by appointment.

Here you can cycle or hike through beautiful villages from Dala-Floda. Or for that matter take the car. Along the way there is a museum and café. Next door to the spinning mill is Wålstedt's agriculture with sales of organic vegetables and bread.
