Nifelhems naturreservat

Welcome to the Ice Kingdom of the North. Despite the name, forest fires have played a major role in the character of the nature reserve. Because of all the boulders, it is difficult to get around the area.

Nifelhem has an old pine forest with elements of spruce, birch and aspen. The forest has been shaped by repeated forest fires. The fires have left clear traces such as fire-damaged living trees, fire stumps and stavas pine forest. Stavaskog is a dense forest with even-aged and small trees that arise after a fire.
