This reserve was created because the family wanted to honor the deceased by protecting the land as a nature reserve for the future. Over the years, the twin brothers Erik and Åke Lundback have managed the area as previous generations have done, in a way that today we would call sustainable. They took out what they needed in the form of timber for construction and peat for the storage yard, but never more than was really needed. They were also concerned about the animals and plants in the area.
