Beskrivelse
Nice cultural environment to visit on your own.
Larsbo Bruk is a former ironworks with buildings from the 1700s. The earliest evidence of Larsbo as a mill is from 1592 and in 1907 the last hammer blow sounded.
Today, the main remains from the ironworks era are a number of hammer houses built in the 1780s and 1790s and some smaller ruins. Remains of the hammer forge can be seen a bit north of the bridge, on the western side of Larsboån. Large parts of Larsbo Bruk are listed as a national monument and the area is protected for fauna and flora.
Take a hiking tour on Larsbo Hyttrunda and follow the history of Larsbo. Along the trail you will pass the remains of the blast furnace and cottage ruins and other buildings that the forest has reclaimed.
The best place to start and end your hike is at the dam, Larsboån (Ingesarvsvägen/Knapptjärnsvägen intersection), where parking is available.
In Larsbo and along the trail there are nice opportunities to take a break and enjoy a snack.
