Kanotled Balungen-Runn

Along the water system between the lakes Balungen and Runn there is a canoe trail. The trail goes through typical small farm buildings with beautiful scenery and is an excellent family trip. Most of it consists of lake paddling with ponds and violent rivers between the lakes. The journey is expected to take four days and the total distance is approximately 60 km. Canoe carts are highly recommended as the trail contains several long lifts.

In three places, overnight stays can take place in enclosed tent or permanent windshield: 1. Lake Balungens southern end, east side, just north of Prästfäboden. 2. Lake Sör-Lingans south side, slightly east of the center of the lake. The windshield is nicely located on a small headland. 3. Gruvsjöns southern part, east side. The windshield is "hidden" behind a headland.

At each campsite there is a dry toilet, a dustbin and a fireplace. Balungstrands bathing area, close to the nature reserve Våckelberget, also has a jetty.

Land transport: Overhangs about 2,500 meters, Pipargårdarna about 1,000 meters, Linghedsströmmen 300 meters, Borgärdetsströmmen 250 meters, Seckan 1 000 meters, Sundborn 600 meters, Hosjöholmen 250 meters, Korsnäsströmmen 150 meters.

A total of about 6 kilometers of land transport. Pickup and loading can usually be done at docked bridges.

Examples of attractions along the trail are: Våckelberget (nature reserve), Enviken's old church, Isala lada, Isalanäset (nature reserve), Svärdjö gammelgård, Svärdsjö church, Arvid Backlund farm with the sculptor's home and studio, Sundborn's church and Carl Larsson's portrait collection, Carl Larsson's church and Carl Larsson's portrait collection, Carl Larsson- the farm and Linderdahlska farm.
