Beskrivelse
Amtjämsbrottet is a disused limestone quarry, protected as a nature reserve thanks to its geologically interesting formations and large number of fossils. The leafy old quarry is also a beautiful and unusual place to visit with its steep sides, lush vegetation and exciting cliffs.
Amtjämsbrottet is located in the so-called Siljan Ring. The shape of the Siljan Ring was formed by a meteorite impact over 370 million years ago and is unique to the country.

The area is located about 6 km north of Rättvik.
Regler
In the reserve it is not allowed to...
- dig, hack, or otherwise damage the soil surface and rock formations,
- damage growing or dead, standing or fallen trees and bushes,
- digging up herbs, removing mosses, mushrooms and lichens, except for the picking of edible mushrooms
- trapping, killing or removing animals, removing eggs, eggs or nests or otherwise deliberately disturbing wildlife
- make fires
- bring a dog or other pet that is not on a leash
- driving a motorized vehicle.
