Beskrivelse
Lommaflyet is one of Blekinge's largest, relatively untouched bogs. In the central part of the area is the small spring lake Lommagölen and around the bog there are elements of coniferous forest. Capercaillie has a strong population in the area.
Marsh, lake and forest
The nature reserve consists mainly of pine bogs, partly with old pine, but there are also open areas with bog and marsh vegetation. In the middle of the bog is the small spring lake Lommagölen, which has clear water, which is unusual for bog ponds. On the mainland to the north and on islands in the eastern part of the bog, there are elements of taiga (coniferous natural forest) with old spruce and pine, as well as dry oaks and flames in various stages of decomposition.
Unusual species
Several red-listed species or species otherwise worthy of protection live on the bog and in the adjacent forests. The capercaillie is something of a character species, and has one of its strongest populations in the county at Lommaflyet. Species such as the powdered dragonfly and the peat bog fritillary also live on the bog. In the adjacent forests, species such as the pine tick, fire tick, wire tick, fox tick, woodpecker and lesser spotted woodpecker occur.
