Beskrivelse
The Gröngölsmåla nature reserve gives you rich nature experiences of coniferous forest and height differences between the forest plateaus and Hallsjön. You can also discover traces of cultural history such as cairns and ruins.
The landscape with rift valleys has clearly marked north-south rifts. There is little moraine in the area and the granite bedrock is therefore often exposed.
Traces of the ice sheet
The flat outcrops and rounded ridges on the highest parts clearly show the erosive, abrasive impact of the ice sheet on the bedrock. The slopes are covered in lava and the field layer, part of the vegetation such as rice and herbs, consists of heather, berry bushes and creeping thistle. The difference in altitude between Hallsjön and the plateau is about 35 meters.
Traces of human activities
There are many traces of previous human activities in the area. Cultivation cairns and occasional remains of buildings are signs of settlement in the area. At the time of the 1837 land consolidation, there were crofts here, which practiced swidden agriculture. But since then the forest has reclaimed the land. The many traces of cultivation on the meagre land reflect the poor and scarce conditions in which people lived in the mid-19th century.
Large forest landscape
The coniferous forests in the two nature reserves Gröngölsmåla and Vantakalleberget form a large coniferous forest-dominated area. The age of the forest varies, and it has been managed by thinning and picking. In this way, the character of natural forest has been retained.
On the lean rocky areas, pine grows with smaller stands of spruce in damp hollows. In the northern part, mixed coniferous forest grows, with a fairly large element of birch, oak and beech.

Rutevejledning
From Tving you reach Gröngölsmåla village by turning off road 122 about 1 km north of Tving towards Möljeryd. If you are traveling on the road between Eringsboda and Möljeryd, follow the signs to Gröngölsmåla. You arrive after about 6 km on gravel roads via Lindet.From Gröngölsmåla village, drive 1.5 km south towards Tving. Turn right onto Robért väg. The road is marked with a small wooden sign and has a road barrier. Then walk 300 meters. The nature reserve is on the left and there is an information board here.Gröngölsmåla can also be reached from the neighboring nature reserve Vantakalleberget, from the south. This requires a hike of about 2 km on the Blekingeleden trail. It passes just south of the Vantakalleberget nature reserve. There is a small parking lot in the area.
Regler
You are welcome to visit Gröngölsmåla, but please note that it is not allowed to
- during the period March 1 - July 15, travel or stay within the land and water area with a trespassing ban
- digging or otherwise damaging fixed natural objects or surface formations, for example by knocking down mooring rings
- damaging stone walls and cairns
- digging up plants
- damaging living or dead trees or shrubs
- removing lichen, brambles and mosses or woody fungi
- unduly disturbing wildlife, for example by taking close-up photographs
- carrying an unleashed dog
- driving a motorized vehicle
- camping or pitching a caravan
- setting fires
- using a radio, gramophone, tape recorder or similar in a disruptive manner
- affix a board, poster, placard, sign, inscription or similar device
- damage any device erected for scientific purposes.
Without permission from the county administrative board, you may not
- collect beetles and butterflies
- conduct scientific research or survey activities.
