It was in the mid-19th century that the armed forces began a major expansion on the island of Rindö. In the Mjöldammen area there are remains of the army's laboratory for explosives and a beautiful stone foundation for a magazine for gunpowder dated to 1881. There is also Uppland's third largest oak tree to be seen, a full 5 and a half meters in circumference and dated to the end of the 15th century.
The cultural trail is open to the public and takes you on a living story through part of Rindö's history.

Det finns en stig som är röjd. Dock finns det broar byggda som knappast en katt skulle våga gå på och stigen går till del över en privat tomt, så jag valde att inte gå hela rundan.
